As a Splunk Engineer at TELUS International Digital Solutions, you will take on a leadership role in driving our DevOps practices' implementation and continuous improvement. This is a hybrid, 3-month contract-to-hire position, located in St. Louis, MO; Charlotte, NC, or Denver, CO. With your expertise in log monitoring, troubleshooting, SPL language, and APM tools like Splunk and AppDynamics, you will contribute to the stability and performance of our Java service environments. Responsibilities

  • Utilize expertise in Splunk and APM tools, particularly Splunk, to write complex queries and leverage data for analysis.

  • Drive the implementation and adoption of DevOps practices across the organization.

  • Utilize SPL language to write complex queries for dashboards, reports, and alerts based on standard deviation.

  • Work with tools like AppDynamics and Datadog for application performance monitoring.

  • Hands-on experience in managing and maintaining Java service environments.

  • Manage Linux VM and cloud platforms to ensure the availability and scalability of software applications.

  • Collaborate with teams for deployment/release planning, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance and support.

  • Handle incident management, effectively addressing and resolving issues in a timely manner.

  • Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and problem resolution.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong experience using Splunk and APM tools with Splunk (8+ years)

  • Experience in log monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • Strong understanding of SPL language and ability to write complex queries for dashboards, reports, and alerts.

  • Experience using different APM tools like AppDynamics and Datadog.

  • Hands-on experience in Java service environments.

  • Proficiency in managing Linux VMs and cloud platforms.

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure management, or a related field.

  • Experience in deployment/release planning.

  • Incident management experience.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a team.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.



Education/Certifications  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

  • Relevant certifications in DevOps or related areas (preferred).
