Position Overview: 

We are looking for a strong Front End/Full Stack and Mobile developer to develop and enhance front end facing applications for our eClaims enterprise solution. Our team is part of a larger Telus Health team located in multiple locations across Canada and all having varying skills and responsibilities. Telus is a corporation that focuses on Customer’s First and Employee Engagement. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, self-motivated, and work well in a team environment 

Product: 

• The TELUS Health eClaims Portal enables Health care providers submit patient’s claims on their behalf using a centralized login to allow for immediate confirmation of the insurance company’s response 

• Offers patients value and lower out-of-pocket expenses. Provides a direct link between patients and insurers to streamline claims processing and shorten reimbursement times for providers 

• Roadmap is to build a migrate eClaims portal to a new platform using React to further enhance providers user experience 

• Develop new features and support mobile app developed in React Native 

Responsibilities: 

• Work with other team members, architects, business analysts, and leaders to implement new business capabilities and troubleshoot issues 

• Interpret system requirements, define technical tasks and write detailed designs that meet business objectives.

• Deliver high quality code, following processes like code reviews, automated unit and functional tests , and supporting our testing teams in QA, UAT, and CAT environments 

• Coordinate technical dependencies with other teams; participate in multiple activities for complex projects in a cross functional multiple platform environment, all while following our deployment change management process

• Make recommendations to improve processes, product quality, reliability, performance, maintainability, and scalability 

Qualifications 

Required Knowledge: 

• Solid understanding of web development and mobile 

• Excellent knowledge of React, React Native, and Java 

• Strong understanding of object-oriented principles 

• Good knowledge of scrum software development methodology 

• Ability to successfully complete complex assignments, delegate as required and provide appropriate communications 

Required Skills & Abilities: 

Technical Skills: 

• React a MUST have and also React Native 

• Java (JEE) 

• Experience with HTML5, CSS and JQuery 

• Experience with JavaScript and Node JS 

• Unit Testing and UI automated testing like Appium 

• IntelliJ/Eclipse, GIT, Maven, Jenkins 

• Experience with performance testing of apps

• SQL (PL/SQL is an asset) 

• Native and Hybrid app development 

Other Skills 

• Self-directed, work independently and adapts quickly to change 

• Ability to multitask, manage time, and ability to handle urgent interruptions with poise and professionalism

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written 

• Creative/innovative thinking 

• Demonstrate a passion for designing and developing well architected, robust automated systems and frameworks ensuring high quality of code 

Required Professional Designation/Certification: 

Bachelor degree in a computer science related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

Required Experience: 

5-8 years experience in a technical development role involving the delivery of software. With at least 5 years of experience developing front-end web applications and 3 years in mobile app development. 

Background in Health Care or Health Insurance industries is an asset.
