Additional Job Description

  • Lead the software development and implementation of tool and automation initiatives for Optical Transport Provisioning team

  • Support and evolve analytics and data management roadmap by leveraging industry research, best practices and emerging tools/technology on Software Development

  • Focus on code quality and timely delivery of products and solutions with a focus on performance, maintainability and scalability

  • Build and maintain a strong engagement with key stakeholders to understand transport provisioning needs and priorities

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers within TELUS as well as business stakeholders

  • Influence how we approach business challenges and opportunities by driving the adoption of an automation driven mindset

  • Investigate & implement opportunities to leverage Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

  • Create new and maintain existing front-end/back-end internal tools: web pages, scripts, integration of Structured Query Language (SQL) Database (DB) to web tools, etc

  • Leverage your Dev-Ops skills to help build and implement a Dev-Ops practice

  • You are recognized for addressing business needs via your application of software development, data mining and analysis, predictive modeling, statistics and other analytical techniques in which you have previous hands-on work experience

  • You are sought out when it comes to analyzing and translating technicalities into business implications

  • 5+ of years of experience as a software developer, preferably in a DevOps environment

  • Knowledge or experience with version control systems (Eg: Git / Gitlab / Github)

  • Practical experience with database (Eg: SQL, MySQL, MongoDb Oracle etc)

  • Knowledge of Representational State Transfer (RESTful) application program interface (API) design & development

  • Understanding of Flask or Flask API Framework development

  • You have solid development experience with consuming and designing Angular or REAT JS

  • Knowledge of how Docker Containers work

  • Strong understanding of application level and system level software design patterns

  • Proficiency in the Python/PHP/JavaScript/CSS/HTML

  • Participate in all development processes: from needs analysis to implementation, review and maintenance

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts
