Description and Requirements


  • Serve as the liaison between Finance and IT through solid understanding of the accounting or financial modeling needs, effective communication of such needs as actionable IT requirements, and ongoing follow-up to ensure the delivery of solutions that respond to user requirements
  • Review critical business and financial processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, hire-to-retire, record-to-report), and proposes solutions for optimization including through automation. In collaboration with others, defines and documents the future state and work with the IT team to implement
  • Recommend continuous improvements of the integration between our ERP system and various applications such as the financial planning platform, revenue and billing systems, banking interfaces for treasury, and supplier portal for procurement functions
  • Manage projects related to the implementation of financial systems as part of M&A integration or rollout of new functionalities on existing systems
  • Leads change management activities within Finance, including communication and training associated with the roll-out of new processes, ERP updates and other financial systems
  • Provide periodic updates to the Finance Leadership Team on ongoing financial system support matters and status of system-related projects
  • In collaboration with IT and the Internal Controls team, support the documentation and management of financial systems controls and financial data governance requirements; implements and documents standard operating procedures for users of financial systems and processes
  • Serves as the Finance in-house expert on financial systems and associated best practices; lead the financial system education effort for the Finance community, particularly for new hires and team members joining through M&A but also seasoned users
  • Support other Finance projects, initiatives, audit and risk management matters as required to ensure the success of the broader organization


  • 15 years of combined experiences covering diverse finance practices, including (i) financial accounting, (ii) FP&A or involvement in financial planning process, and (iii) the implementation of financial systems, including large-scale ERP systems
  • Experiences with Workday Financials and Adaptive Insights preferred
  • Experience with project management is an asset
  • Experience in publicly listed company operating in a SOX environment preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, CPA strongly preferred
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects with cross-functional stakeholders outside of own reporting line and in multiple global locations

Position Overview

TELUS International is seeking a Director of Financial Systems to join our growing organization.  Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the candidate for this role combines excellent knowledge of finance and accounting with experience implementing and/or managing financial systems for both accounting and planning, in the internal controls environment of a publicly-listed company.  In partnership with the IT team, the candidate will manage processes related to current financial systems for the Finance organization which include governance, maintenance, financial system integration for M&A, and upgrade activities.  The candidate has the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across a global team as well as with external partners and can prioritize multiple tasks at once to meet competing deadlines.
