About the role

Learning & Development - General Learning Specialist (previously known as Language and Communications trainer) is responsible for delivering training to improve the French or English level for TELUS International Central America's team members. This is achieved through TELUS Language Academy, an internal initiative that aims to improve the French or English proficiency of our team members. The program offers support to our new hires that don’t fulfill the French or English skills required to be hired by our international accounts, and floor support with Communication Reinforcement Training to help those who are taking calls, chats or emails. They are also responsible for delivering training completely in French or English and focusing on improving accent, grammar, comprehension, customer service skills and writing skills. Learning & Development - General Learning Specialists must be able to deliver results within specific time frames to stay in line with the department targets.


Responsibilities:
Provide French reinforcement to the participants, evaluate the participant’s performance in order to determine improvement in specific areas of opportunity, create action plans for different areas or topics that require reinforcement, coordinate all the logistics involved in delivering an effective training (Training space reserved, audio visual equipment, effective communication to the participants, etc)

 

Requirements & Skills:

  • Schedule flexibility.

  • Previous experience as Teacher or Trainer - Desired.

  • Interpersonal skills.

  • Results oriented.

  • Strong sense of commitment.

  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.

  • Leadership. 

  • Problem resolution oriented.
     

Knowledge:

  • Google Workplace  - Intermediate.

  • Native or near native English speakers (CEFRL score of B2 or above)

  •Oral and written comprehension

  •Appropriate use of the English language

  • Native or near native French speakers (CEFRL score of B2 or above)

 •Oral and written comprehension

 •Appropriate use of the French language

  • Knowledge and experience in Customer Service - Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience in Sales - Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience in Tech Support - Desirable

  • Training material development - Desirable

 

Studies & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree preferably in Educational Sciences, Communications, Business Administrations or related,  - Desirable.

  • Experience in ESL System - Desirable.
