Additional Job Description
- Manage the Network Architecture Roadmap for TELUS Health and Lifeworks
- Work with stakeholders, development and delivery teams to implement CTO Strategies for Network Reliability and Security
- Work with Cloud Architecture Team for design specifications for network integration to public clouds
- Create and maintain Network standards and policies
- Create Architectural framework and road map for various infrastructure
- Provide infrastructure to support business requests/challenges
- Develop plans and strategies to improve network performance, reliability and operational cost-effectiveness
- Maintain and create architecture documentation
- Provide consultation and comprehensive support to our internal and external business partners including Solutions Architecture, Engineering, Application Services, Distributed Computing (server, storage, web hosting), Information Security, Business Continuity and our business stakeholders
- Architect and build national network backbone connecting data centers including public clouds
- Consult with internal and external customers
- Process network requests for both standard requests and projects
- Provide assistance, guidance, and cross-train junior network architects
- Participate in Defect Resolution as needed
- Provide Tier4 support during high priority incidents when the request comes directly from Director(s)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information to management and non-technical audience
- Knowledge and/or of the Healthcare industry including operations, technology and the business environment
- Expert knowledge of network and computer systems hardware and software theory, best practices, concepts and technology relevant to organizational vision
- Expert knowledge and experience in the following key areas:
- Data center and remote locations networking – LAN/WAN
- Routing, switching, load balancing, DNS, and multi-functional firewalls
- Data center network integration and consolidation
- Application and network technology integration design experience
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure technologies and platforms including public and private cloud
- Operations Architecture: High-availability, reliability, operability, failover, disaster recovery, capacity/performance management.
- Understands value drivers; Understands delivery approaches; Experience in architecture and delivery of solutions that considers operational support / availability
- Network Security, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Protocols, Networking Standards, Conceptual Skills, Decision Making, Informing Others, Functional and Technical Skills, Dependability, Information Security Policies.
- Ability to articulate and resolve complex project related problems and execute innovative solutions, in a fast-paced changing environment with multiple stakeholders
- Exposure to and experience with tools and technologies used to design, plan, and validate architecture designs

- Experience with change management and/or deploying enterprise distributed systems in a production environment
- Experience and understanding of networking services consisting of virtual and physical network functions
- Experience with Container, Orchestration and Micro-Services with AWS, Azure, GCP or other cloud infrastructures
- Experience with IaaS management tools such as Terraform
- Experience in using Ansible/Chef or Puppet
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in data center networking and infrastructure support, engineering, design and architecture
- At least 6 years of experience in enterprise data center networking architectures on large infrastructure and proven experience in leading the architecture of a large program from initiation to implementation
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems
- Prefer to have Cisco CCIE designation or in progress
- Applicable certifications in network engineering and architecture
- Applicable certifications in public clouds will be an asset
