TELUS International is looking for a Linguistics Analyst with fluency in Hebrew, Afrikaans, Hausa, Swahili or Zulu, to work in our AI team based in Poland. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Annotation
• Creating grammar rules
• Formulating language templates
• Finding patterns
• Evaluating existing data

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Ideal candidates have native fluency in one of the target languages, Master's degree in Linguistics or similar fields and demonstrate some of the below:

• Solid and comprehensive understanding of the formal aspects of the target language such as grammar, parts of speech, formal/casual/dialects
• Knowledge/awareness of linguistic terms and concepts
• Working knowledge of complex tools such as CMS, SQL, Advanced Excel/Sheets
• Some knowledge of programming/coding such as HTML, R, regular expressions
• Good understanding and interest in the current technology landscape: IT & computing, AI, machine learning, voice assistants, internet of things
• Experience in testing, data processing, database management,
• Formal linguistic education is a plus
• Grasping technical concepts and learning new tools
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with confidence and little oversight
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Extra points for:

• Experience using NLP tools and concepts
• Experience in annotation work
• Knowledge of formal linguistics

The role is a full-time position in Krakow or Wroclaw. Candidates must be eligible to work in Poland. Currently, due to Coronavirus, the work is done remotely, but eventually full-time on-site presence will be required.
