Position Overview

The core purpose of the Business Development Executive is to generate, develop and convert new business opportunities to grow the client base and revenue of TELUS International.


Primary Responsibilities

● Deliver sales and new business revenue growth within the European marketplace.

● Develop new business opportunities from “zero to close”, through the cycle from initial engagement to solution and proposal development, negotiation and contracting.

● Identify, build and develop a network of key business stakeholders, decision makers and influencers in target sectors and existing markets.

● Creatively access key target clients through networking, referrals, events, marketing collaborations and outbound prospecting.

● Use insight based selling techniques to identify challenges within prospective target partner customer operations to gain access to key stakeholders for deeper discussions on how TELUS International can solve the problems.


Key skills & abilities

● Proven track record of closing large new-logo sales in an international BPO sales role and consistently delivering against ambitious sales targets on a multi-year basis.

● Adept at developing, leading and influencing C-Level relationships within target clients.

● An ability to develop new sales growth in target sectors and negotiate contracts to a close.

● Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to deliver compelling value propositions and proposals tailored to the client’s needs and vision.

● Commercially astute with an intuitive understanding of the stage of a prospect’s decision-making process and the steps necessary to move them through that process.

● A results driven and people oriented team-player. Ability to offer inspiration, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills to make things happen via matrixed international teams.

● Understands business on a global scale, understands what works in many countries and what is different from country to country. Ability to work with diverse groups in terms of geography and different time zones.

● Fully understands the workings of BPO, including the operation of contact centres.

● Experienced in building and managing the sales pipeline, with full reporting in salesforce.     


Experience and Education:

● Significant (5 years+) experience selling international BPO or related CX services.

● Demonstrated history of success in sales and closing large deals.

● Experience of leading in a matrixed international environment.

● Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.

● Multi-lingual skills with fluency in business language would be desirable.


● Preferred locations include: England, France, Spain, Italy (will consider other EMEA locations)

● The successful candidates must be located in Europe and have access to an international airport (within one hour from home) that has daily access to major European cities.

● Able to work from a home office and to travel away from home for up to 35% of work hours (domestic and international).
