Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, focused on labor and employment, litigation and related matters will partner with our Human Resources, Operations and Finance teams as well as a range of leaders and team members to shape our response to labor and employment and litigation matters in Turkey and any other location or practice area that develops your value. You will continue to enhance our strong, collaborative relationship with clients and expand our impact in shaping strategy.

As Labor and Employment counsel you are required to perform and undertake the following duties and responsibilities in a professional manner, and in a way that conforms to, and reflects TI values and culture:

  • Advise business partners about labor and employment strategies in the day to day. 

  • Provide direction to the business to ensure key factors are considered when making employment decisions, and where appropriate, identify challenges or barriers, and offer creative solutions

  • Lead and have oversight over labor and employment matters, including the support and development of company documents, policies, plans and programs  

  • Investigate, prepare and represent the company in threatened or active complaints

  • Identify challenges and opportunities that exist across the business and partner with business leaders to implement strategic recommendations  

  • Provide ongoing case status and key deadlines to all business leaders as appropriate

  • Develop and deliver educational materials and training activities to allow the Human Resources, Law & Governance, Operations and other business segments to partner more effectively on labor and employment matters

  • Draft legal documents and correspondence

  • Maintain up to date knowledge in local legislation to advise on applicability

  • Oversee organized labor challenges and opportunities 

  • Share your expertise, mentor and coach other team members to develop and grow the Law & Governance practice  

  • Oversee the filings of work-related permits and visas for team members

  • Reduce outside counsel spend and organize/coordinate support of external lawyers when needed

  • Ability to effectively advise, recommend, and present requirements and solutions to problems

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English and Turkish
