Managed Learning Services (MLS), Learning Translator (English & French) - TELUS International El Salvador & Guatemala

What is this role?

The TELUS CSD Strategy & Governance team is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an English to French Translator. In this role, the team member will be responsible for supporting the translation of communications and learning material from English to French, as well as providing support for English and French communications. The ideal candidate will have experience with the Google suite, enabling them to replicate English slides in French for presentations and other materials.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Translation and Development

  • Translate a variety of communications and learning content from EN-FR/FR-EN, ensuring accuracy and maintaining the intended meaning and tone.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the context and purpose of the content being translated.

  • Review and proofread translated materials to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Adapt English slides and presentations into French, ensuring that the content is accurately conveyed and visually appealing.

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of English and French communications, including emails, newsletters,  and other written or graphic materials.

  • Conduct research and stay updated on industry-specific terminology to ensure accurate translations.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary revisions to translated materials.

  •  Communication/stakeholder relations

  • Skilled at navigating team dynamics while also capable of independent/self-driven work.

  • Ability to present during meetings and flex the communication style based on current needs (stakeholder, project, team, business, etc).

  • Ability to communicate daily and negotiate with stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver on agreed-upon timelines.

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to develop job aids, document business rules, etc.

  • Create and/or implement methodologies to standardize work.

  • Attend weekly calls to provide updates and check projects' progress with the Stakeholders.

  • Planning and time management to ensure timely delivery of tasks and exceed quality expectations from Stakeholders.

  • Maintain confidentiality and build effective relationships with other internal departments within TELUS and TI as a whole.

Knowledge:

  • English & French- B2: Required

    • Oral and written comprehension.

    • Appropriate use of language.

  • Google Workspace Advanced Knowledge - Required

  • Knowledge of data visualization, including principles, methods, types, and applications, for example, texture and color mapping, data representation, graphs, word clouds - Required

  • TELUS Accounts knowledge - It’s a plus

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of industry-specific terminology and the ability to conduct research to ensure accurate translations.

Studies & Experience:

  • 3 years of University studies (Business Administration, Pedagogy, Information Technology, or similar are a plus.) - Desirable

  • Experience in Client/Stakeholder management - Required

  • Proven experience in translating written content from English to French, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy - Required

  • Knowledge of statistical theory and methods including the computation, interpretation, and reporting of statistics - Required

  • A passion for language and a commitment to delivering high-quality translations

  • Familiarity with translation tools and software, such as SDL Trados Studio - It’s a plus
