Description and Requirements
As a Senior SDET for the TELUS team, you will be working as a part of a friendly, cross-disciplinary agile team who helps each other solve problems across all functions. As a custodian of customer trust, you will employ best practices in automated testing to ensure the highest quality of service for our web experiences. You will guard the quality of our products and ensure we have short feedback loops in our delivery cycles, allowing us to understand the value and depth of our web and mobile experiences at all stages, always challenging norms and communicating risks to quality.
Responsibilities:
You will work closely with developers, product owners, scrum master, designers, content writers, and other testers to grasp the full scope of features and pair with developers to advise and build automation scripts (unit, integration, end-to-end, UI) ensuring code coverage and quality
You will create, execute, improve and maintain automation test scripts for WEB and APP through standard methodologies, closely monitor test results for swift feedback, and participate in peer code reviews
You will advocate and evangelize good testing practices, like pair programming, code reviews, Test Driven Development (TDD), Exploratory Testing, Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD)
You will own and support the implementation of standardization in testing practices and processes across the agile team, while continuously refine and optimize the Way We Work.
You will engage in all phases of the agile development cycle, clearly and actively voice out concerns and strive to tackle technical debt with your team
You will identify, evaluate, report and document defects, questionable functions and inconsistencies in product content and outlook during the design and implementation phase
You will conduct Manual testing when required and lead and conduct Exploratory Testing sessions with the team
Automation audit and cleaning, validate accuracy/efficiency, remove duplicates with other types of testing (Unit Test/Contract Test), remove overlapping with other E2E testing, respecting digital code standards, validate that tests are sold)
Build and maintain documentation in Confluence and other document hubs
You will support team releases that might happen during off hours and be ready to be on on-call support rotation with the team
Requirements
Proven experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Build, Continuous Delivery Practices, Test Automation and related tool-sets (such as Cypress, Appium, Dynatrace, Github Actions etc)
Demonstrable history of excelling in a team based collaborative environment.
Strong team leadership skills (helping lead the team's work)
Experience testing customer-facing web, mobile applications
Experience implementing standardization and improving process
Experience mentoring junior team members, overseeing code quality and evangelizing best practices
You also have strong interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
You have a strong ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced changing environment
You have solid programming background, experience with Javascript, NodeJS, Java, or similar
You have an understanding of QA methodologies and strong ‘hands on’ experience developing test scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing that include automated, ad-hoc, and manual testing elements
Establish and maintain comprehensive and well-structured test cases, test plans to organize component test scenarios, for documentation and knowledge sharing purposes.
You have experience with testing within an Agile development environment
You are experienced in both web and mobile testing
You are adept at communicating and collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members
Great-to-haves:
Deployment to App Stores: Experience with deploying mobile applications to Apple App Store and Google Play Store, including familiarity with the submission process, provisioning profiles, code signing, and release management.
Testing and Debugging: Experience with testing frameworks like Jest for unit testing React Native components and debugging tools for troubleshooting issues across different platforms.
Mobile QA Experience: Prior experience in mobile app testing across iOS, Android, and React Native is essential, as it provides a foundational understanding of mobile-specific concepts and best practices.
