Position Overview

TELUS International is seeking a senior manager of financial reporting and accounting to join our growing organization. Reporting to the director of finance, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting under IFRS, is organized and detail-oriented, a self- starter that is adaptable to change, can prioritize multiple tasks to meet competing deadlines, and play a pivotal role in maturing the Company’s processes. The primary responsibilities for this role will focus around financial accounting and reporting, including review of statutory and other compliance reports, and ongoing improvement of the broader financial control

environment. Previous public company reporting experience would be an asset for this role. Responsibilities

  • Lead the timely and accurate preparation and review of annual and quarterly financial statements and MD&A under IFRS to ensure compliance with U.S. SEC regulations and filings

  • Oversight and review of technical accounting research and documentation; communicate and collaborate with the business and FP&A to understand the accounting and impact

  • Monitor and interpret new accounting standards and SEC regulations, including those

    related to sustainability reporting, and assess the impact to the Company; maintain appropriate documentation and lead the implementation and execution of such new standards

  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare information to support the global consolidated audit, interim reviews and SOX testing

  • Oversee the accounting of certain areas such as, but not limited to, share-based compensation, lease accounting, purchase accounting over business combinations

  • Work closely with our global regional finance teams to guide and support local compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and review statutory financial statements

  • Partner with FP&A, Tax, Accounting Operations, Investor Relations, Treasury, Internal Audit, and other cross functional groups to achieve objectives

  • Recommend and streamline processes and initiate improvements where necessary

  • Support and enhance internal controls across global finance organization

  • Ad hoc work as required to ensure the success of the broader organization

​​Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 8+ years of experience in a national public accounting firm or public company reporting experience within a multinational business

  • CPA designation, in good standing

  • Ability to research, propose, document and articulate company positions on complex

    accounting issues

  • Experience managing a team and demonstrated ability to foster growth and development

    of direct staff

  • Commitment to effective operation of SOX controls

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • High attention to detail
