TELUS International is seeking a Senior Database Administrator in Charlotte, North Carolina who specializes in Teradata Server Database systems. As the successful candidate, you will have a deep understanding of medium to large-scale Teradata database systems and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. You will manage Teradata Server projects and oversee operations, ensuring smooth functioning and resolving any issues that arise. Your responsibilities also include providing technical guidance for complex projects and exploring new technologies for the department's use. You will work closely with management to define and develop a strategic vision for the department, identifying key technologies and staying up-to-date with industry trends.


Qualifications and Skills

  • 6-9 years of IT experience

  • Experience designing databases for OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) applications

  • Experience in developing strategies and methodologies for ETL tool assessment, demonstrating a data-driven approach to technology selection

  • Proficiency in Multiple RDBMS, Windows/Linux/Solaris Operating Systems, and shell scripting.

  • Solid understanding of SAN (Storage Area Network) concepts and experience with tape backup systems

As a Senior Teradata Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing Teradata Server projects and overseeing operations. You will also provide technical guidance for complex projects and explore new technologies for the department. In addition, you will work closely with management to define and develop a strategic vision for the department. To be successful in this role, you will need a deep understanding of medium to large-scale Teradata database systems and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. You should also have experience in managing projects, providing technical guidance, and working in a team environment.
